What was Donald Sutherland’s background?

Donald is a Canadian actor born July 17, 1935, which made him 88-years-old at the time of his death on June 20, 2024.

He shot to fame in 1967 in the movie The Dirty Dozen.

He enjoyed a long career which saw him star in big Hollywood blockbusters and high-profile TV shows.

He married three times.

His first wife was Lois Hardwick from 1959-1966, then he married Shirley Douglas from 1966-1970.

Donald and Shirley had twins, fellow Hollywood actor Kiefer Sutherland and his sister Rachel.

His last wife was Francine Racette whom he wed in 1972.

The couple had three sons, Rossif, Angus and Roeg.

In 2018, he starred in the TV show Trust, about the John Paul Getty III kidnapping and his family’s response.

He also starred in the famous 70s thriller Don’t Look Now
