Who are Kenneth Cope and Renny Lister’s children Martha, Nick and Mark?

Martha Cope

Martha was born in 1970 and went on to follow her parents into acting.

She has worked with the BBC for much of her career, first appearing in Casualty.

The actress later appeared in another BBC medical drama, Holby City, as well as the first series of the revived Doctor Who.

One of Martha’s most dramatic roles was in EastEnders where she played Dotty Cotton’s mother, Sandy Gibson.

She is the second actress to take on the role and arrived on Albert Square in 2021.

Sandy caused chaos whilst on the show, as she struggled with alcoholism and her strained relationship with her daughter.

Ahead of her appearance, Martha shared how excited she was to join the hit soap.

She said: “I have watched EastEnders since it began and I’m beyond excited to join such an iconic show and having a great time playing Sandy.”

Nick Cope

Nick took a different path to his sister and formed the indie rock band The Candyskins, with their other brother Mark.

The band were early members of the “Oxford scene”, which produced bands including Supergrass and Radiohead.

They produced four albums during their eight year run and helped lay the groundwork for the Britpop takeover of the 1990s.

Nick was the lead vocalist for the band, which broke up in 1998.

He is perhaps best known though for his work with children, as he presents Nick Cope’s Popcast on Cbeebies.

The cartoon show follows Nick and his whippet Norman, as they sing and go on adventures.

Nick now lives in Oxford with his wife, Amanda, and three children.

Mark Cope

Like his brother Nick, Mark is a musician and a founding member of The Candyskins.

Mark was the band’s lead guitarist, who helped pen some of their biggest hits.

Their single “Monday Morning” was their biggest chart success, as it broke the UK top 40.

However, the band’s momentum was hampered by their record label declaring bankruptcy and soon their album sales began to decline.

Nick formed a new band, Nine Stone Cowboy, who have released surreal singles including “Solar Powered Sex Toy”.
