MARRIED At First Sight’s Charlie Curtis has found love again after her rocky romance with Eve Reid.
The TV star has put her reality show wedding behind her, and is dating Philly Ward. Here we take a look at Charlie’s new girlfriend.
Charlie Curtis launched to fame on Married At First Sight UK season 9 in 2024.
However, her time on the show was cut short after a series of arguments with wife Eve Reid saw the couple leave the experiment early.
Charlie’s new girlfriend is Londoner Philly Ward.
According to her LinkedIn profile she is a police officer for British Transport Police.
Philly is also known for her TikTok handle, @phillyward, where she posts videos of herself singing.
She also likes to share clips of her adorable Labrador puppy.
Moving on
On October 10, 2024, Charlie was spotted holding hands Philly as they headed for a fried chicken date at Wingstop.
However, she waited until October 21, 2024, to confirm she was in a new relationship.
It came after Charlie posted a picture of themselves at a Halloween event.
The pair looked happy as they stood in the middle of a pumpkin patch.
The E4 star simply captioned her sweet post with an orange love heart emoji icon and added the hashtags: “#hardlaunch #halloween #girlfriend #mafsuk.”
Fans love the new romance
Charlie’s army of followers were quick to priase this new romance, with one writing: “The ONLY Mafs update ANY of us want!”
Another commented: “Never been more happy for someone I don’t know,” as a third put: “We love the girlfriend reveal.”
One then added: “Love this!!! I think on behalf of everyone we hope you are both happy.”
Spilt from Eve
The Sun were first to reveal that Charlie and Eve had split off-screen– and that the pair were “not on speaking terms”.
They then decided to quit the show after their relationship hit rock bottom.
It came after an emotional rollercoaster packed full of rows and trust issues and an explosive Honeymoon where Eve moved out of their room.
In an exclusive chat, Charlie addressed their bitter aftermath and said: “The last time I saw or spoke to Eve was on that sofa at the last commitment ceremony.
“Me and Eve do not have a relationship at all.
Asked about “bullying” accusations, Charlie replied: “I’m not here to name call but let’s just say I sleep very well at night knowing that deep down me and Eve are the only ones who know what really went down and the actual truth and we both know I’m not a bully.”
There were more tears when Eve was caught listening in to Charlie’s “safe space, breaking her trust in the process”.
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
