HOUSEHOLDS needing to stock up on groceries over the long weekend will want to know Co-op’s opening hours.
Many of us look forward to a longer break over the early May bank holiday on May 6, and retail workers are no different.
Co-op has over 4,000 stores nationwide, but opening times vary across the UK.
Below we round up what you need to know.
Is Co-op open over the bank holiday?
Co-op stores are open as usual on Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5.
Its branches are also open on the bank holiday Monday, but opening hours may vary.
Co-op shops typically welcome shoppers from either 6am or 7am until 11pm on most days.
Some close at 10pm though while others shut at midnight, so it’s important to check ahead.

What are other supermarkets doing?
Several other supermarkets have confirmed they will reduce their opening hours over the bank holiday.
Aldi stores in England and Wales are closing at 8pm on Monday, instead of the usual 10pm.
Meanwhile, Tesco’s larger stores are operating with reduced hours too, closing by 8pm as well.
Its Express stores are typically open as usual.
